There are a lot of resources available for free to start your journey in cyber security. I will use this page to list those that I come across along with a brief description.
LinkedIn Learning (free to military and military spouses)
Linkedin Premium is free for veterans and spouses for one year. I have provided the link you can follow to sign up. Veterans you will need your DD214. I am currently on LinkedIn and love this resource.
OSINT Academy-Threat/Warning Analyst (free for veterans)
The OSINT Academy (Open Source Intelligence Academy) is a collaboration between Dakota State University and The Hetherington Group. This academy provides training in information/intelligence gathering, OSINT research skills, and how to write OSINT reports and how to present findings. Cynthia Hetherington does a great job of differentiating this process for those new to cyber security.
ISC2-Certified in Cyber Security Certification (free to everyone)
ISC2 is on a mission to help 1 million individuals earn cyber security certification for FREE. Yes, FREE. The organization provides the training for free. Once you register, for the training you will get a code to register for the exam which will waive the exam fee. I have taken this training along with the LinkedIn Learning training by Mike Chappel entitled Certified in Cyber Security as well. These are two great preparation resources.
Replit's 100 Days of Code provide a platform to learn how to code in the browser without having the down Python. Lessons last approximately 15 minutes with projects embedded along the way.
100 days of Code by Dr. Angela Yu
I have not tried her program yet, but I do plan on trying it in the future. I will be able to speak more about it at that time. (4/25/2023)
